This is not a sport that we have the time to participate in BUT we have the honor of being the breeder of “Squiggles” who was so wonderfully trained by Marietta Huber .

I acquired SQUIGGLES from Jeanette Horn when she was 2 years old, after earning her breed championship. Jeanette wanted me to train, show, and earn agility titles with her, and to have a least one litter. It started out as just a “fluke” for me. After competing with my labs for many years, I was looking for a smaller dog to train & travel with. But after only 6 months, I realized just how special SQUIGGLES was! She just loves to be in the spot light! She loves the crowds of people and dogs! She is full of confidence and is a well balanced dog! Their isn’t anything that she can’t physically do — as long as she believes it’s what she wants to do! It took me a while to learn about how beagles learn, react and are motivated. But after my experience with SQUIGGLES, I greatly admire the breed!
At 15 years old, SQUIGGLES is doing remarkably well. She is the oldest dog ever competing in agility! While she is not running as fast as the younger dogs, she still is accurate! It is almost always my fault if we don’t qualify! Every time we run, there is at least one spectator who tells me how happy she is competing! In December 2005, when SQUIGGLES earned her 10th Master’s Agility Championship Title (MACH) the photo above was taken In years past, she has won similar Masters titles in different agility organizations: NADAC, NCDA, UKC, and USDAA. She has also earned her 3rd level obedience title: UD (Utility Dog).
Currently, SQUIGGLES is on the top 10 list of “all time high scoring” agility dogs in the USA! Not just beagles! Also, I have found out that the AKC will be hosting a special competition in December 2006 in Long Beach, CA; it’s the Agility Invitational. The top 5 raking dogs in each breed for the past year have been invited to compete. And SQUIGGLES has earned a spot on the Beagle list! God willing, if she is still with me and still enjoys competing, I will be taking her to California in December!Below is a picture of Squiggles taken in Slovenia in 1998 when we competed at the World Agility competition. Our USA Mini team won 1st place and we took home the Gold Medal! That event was so exciting for us! The previous year we competed in Denmark.
